Electric Utility Deregulation Perspectives and Strategies in Illinois:
Kavita Maini, Principal, KM Energy Consulting. The transition period
ends and bundled rates in the ComEd service area will no longer be frozen
starting January 1, 2007. This presentation will provide a regulatory update
with special focus on post 2006 transition issues. In addition, electricity
procurement options pre and post transition period for customers declared
competitive, will also be discussed. Electricity pricing trends will be
presented. Finally, a variety of products being offered by suppliers will be
discussed
Energy Savings, Improved Power Quality and Economics with Power Factor:
Larry Guzy, Business Development, ELSPEC North America. Power factor
correction minimizes energy losses associated with heating in transformers and
cables and reduces electrical and mechanical stresses on the power system. It
can also enable a facility to add additional load to existing transformers and
to reduce or eliminate power factor economic penalties if applicable.
Reservations: The cost of the program is $25.00 for AEE members
and 45.00 for non-members. The cost includes a buffet style luncheon.
