Microgrid: Steven D. Rowe, P.E. Senior Product Manager - IEMS, GE Digital Energy
will be discussing how microgrids
control systems can improve the integration of the offsite power into
businesses and homes. GE Microgrid Control System is an energy management
control system that enables local power-generating facilities and
buildings equipped with wind and solar power systems to better utilization
renewable energy sources and reduce demand on fossil fuel consumption.
Microgrids
allow power generation and consumption to be managed so that the load is
balanced with the supply. Smart power meters allow power to be stored in
batteries and reused at times of peak demand. This smart approach to
managing energy use can result in lower energy costs to the consumer
because it encourages making smarter choices about power use.
